Configuring Basic Settings for Your Almabase Site

Learn how to update essential site settings, including site name, logo, colors, social media links, and more.

Site settings are crucial for customizing your Almabase site to match your institution's branding and communication needs. This article guides you through three main sections of site configuration.

Section 1: Primary Info

  1. Start by accessing the primary information settings. To do this, go to Settings > Site Settings via the admin panel.

  2. School/University/Organization Name: Enter your institution's full name here.

  3. School/University Short Name: In cases where your institution's full name doesn't fit, provide a shorter version here.

  4. Name of the Alumni Association: This name appears at the top of the website (e.g., ABC Alumni Network, ABC Connect).

  5. Short Name of the Alumni Association: Enter a shorter version of your Alumni Association's name.

  6. Primary Sender Communication Name: Automated emails sent from the platform will use this name.

  7. Primary Communication Reply Email (Reply To): Replies to automated emails will be sent to this address, and it appears in the footer of the website.

  8. Primary Contact: This phone number will be displayed in the footer of the website.

  9. Database Used: Select the database where your constituent data is stored.

Section 2: Domain Settings

  1. Configure your website's domain settings by following the step-by-step instructions provided.

Section 3: Branding

  1. In this section, you can customize the visual branding of your site:

    • Logos: Upload logos according to the provided guidelines. Note that logos will start reflecting on the website immediately after uploading and saving.

    • Colors: Enter hex codes for the Primary, Secondary, and Accent colors. Our team will apply these colors to the site within 24 hours.

Other Setups

  1. Under Site Setup, you can:

    • Add the email address where you want to receive notifications when someone signs up on the platform.

    • Enable sending wishes on birthdays and anniversaries to platform records (recommended after configuring domain settings).

  2. In the Social Media Setup section, enter URLs for your social media handles. Make sure these are public pages, not closed groups.

    Note: URLs for closed groups won't display the social media icon on the homepage.

  4. If you're using the Almabase Giving module, the Fundraising sections would be relevant.

    • Thank you email sender: The user profile from which "Thank you" emails to donors should be sent.

    • Notifications for new gifts and weekly gift reports.
