Creating an Email Group Using Engagement Studio

Engage your alumni by sending tailored messages with email groups.

Step 1: Locating Filters in Engagement Studio

  1. Go to "Members".

  2. Then "Engagement Studio" in the admin panel.

  3. And look for "Filters".

Step 2: Explore Filters

In the Filters section, you have two main choices:

  1. Record Filter

  2. Engagement Filter

Step 3: Implementing a Record Filter

  1. Select "Add record filter".

  2. Choose "get filters from data studio" on the next page.

  3. Apply the filters in the data studio to segment users.

  4. Copy the applied filters and return to the "add record filter" page.

  5. Paste the copied filter and select "Load Filter".

Step 4: Setting up an Engagement Filter

  1. Click on "Add engagement filter".

  2. Find and click the "+" sign on the right side.

  3. Fill in the details for the filter:

    1. Name

    2. Date range

    3. Include or Exclude option

    4. Type of engagement (e.g., Registered for an event)

    5. Frequency

  4. Apply the filters.

Step 5: Review Filtered Users

Users fitting the criteria will be displayed in a table below the filters.

Step 6: Choose Between Segment or List

  1. Click on the gear icon under the table.

  2. Decide whether to create a segment or a list:

    1. Segment - updates automatically based on the defined criteria

    2. List - static list unless manually edited

  3. After choosing, name your segment or list.

  4. You can now utilize this email group for sending specific communications through the Communication Centre.
