Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the latest version of Google's analytics platform, offering several key features and improvements for tracking user interactions across devices and platforms. This guide will show you how to integrate Google Analytics with Almabase using your Google Analytics tracking ID. Please refer to this link if you need help creating a Google Analytics account.
Integration Process
Retrieve your tracking ID (also known as the measurement ID) from your Google Analytics account.
Log in to your Almabase admin panel, then navigate to Settings > Basic Site Settings > Site Setup.
Locate the "Google Analytics Tracking Code" field and paste your tracking ID here.
Finding your "G-" ID on Google Analytics
If you already have a Google Analytics account and want to find your "G-" ID, follow these steps:
Access Google Analytics
Click on Admin.
Ensure you are in the correct account and property.
In the Property column, select Data Streams.
Locate the data stream for your website.
Your "G-" ID will appear in the top right corner within the Web stream details pane.
Enter your "G-" ID into the field that your CMS provides.
Once you've entered your "G-" ID and clicked Save, Google Analytics will begin tracking your website traffic.
Note: Your website's traffic can take a couple of hours to appear in Google Analytics. Also, you can't retrieve data from any period before you add your tracking ID.
Important update: Starting July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics properties will no longer process website data. Refer to this article to upgrade to a GA4 property.
