There are multiple methods to create email groups on Almabase.
Note: Deciding which one is right for you depends on the database you use and the criteria for creating the email group/list.
When to use?
Always use this method if the constituents are on RE NXT.
Use this method if the query needed to create the email list is based on a field that is not on Almabase.
If you want to keep the email list dynamically updated as it is updated on Raiser's Edge, use the method of setting up a recurring pull.
When to use?
Use this method if the constituent records are in a non-RE system like Salesforce, Ellucian, an Excel file, etc.
This method is meant for non-RE users. RE users can use it when the constituents are not on RE.
Always add IDs and email addresses to the import template. This will ensure no duplicates are created, and data accuracy is maintained.
When to use?
This method can be used by RE or non-RE users.
If the records are already on Almabase and the criteria to create the email list can be set up on Data Studio, then use this method.
Note: Email list upload always creates a new record on the platform unless a record with that email address (as primary address) already exists. If new records are added to Almabase, they will be unlisted by default.
