Admins have two ways to capture a constituent's email communication preference:
Solicit Code
Request No Email
Depending on the selected method, Almabase automatically adjusts whether a constituent is subscribed or unsubscribed from emails. You can see their subscription status on their profile and on Data Studio.
The communication preference settings only control complete subscriptions or unsubscriptions. Specific preferences, such as opting out of newsletters or event emails, need configuration through Email Category and Solicit Codes.
How It Works
When 'Request No Email' is selected and :

Email Communication Preference is either updated on Raiser's Edge or Almabase:
The email communication preference updates when "Request No Email" is chosen are handled based on the sync rules set for Basic Information under Sync Rules.
If the rule is set to update automatically, the changes made will sync in real-time. If it is set to review, then it will be flagged under the Data Inbox.
FAQs
Can admins switch between 'Solicit Code' and 'Request No Email'?
Yes, but frequent changes aren't advisable due to the reconciliation time. If necessary, change it at least two days before sending emails.
Does the email preference sync happen automatically?
Yes, based on sync rules set under Basic Information in your integration settings.
