We have made a few changes to the vocabulary of the various registration stages that the user goes through as they create an account on your platform.
Here is a glossary of terms that you will come across on the Almabase platform:
Records
Think of records as files that store information about a person in a library. On Almabase, every record identifies a person, even if they are not registered on the platform. The record can be marked either as Listed or Unlisted.
Unlisted records are those that will not show up on the platform directory but will receive emails.
Examples of some Unlisted records could be Email list uploads, non-log-in event registrations, non-log-in donations, etc.
Account
Whenever someone visits your platform and registers, we either create a new record or associate it with an existing record (if the system was able to identify the person safely). This record, which so far only had data on a person, will now be associated with new account-level settings like login credentials, mentorship preferences, etc.
The account registration status has the following values:
Account Not Created: Records that have not been registered.
Pending Approval: Accounts in this stage are those that will require you to manually review and approve/block access as you see fit. If needed, you can request the user for more information that will help you with your decision. The users will not have access to anything on the platform at this stage.
Approved: Accounts approved will be able to log in to your platform and access permitted features.
Blocked: Accounts that are blocked will not be able to view or edit secure pages on the platform. The blocked accounts will be archived.
Awaiting More Information: Users who have requested more information during the account review process will show up in this stage.
Notifications
To receive notifications when users sign up, head to Settings > Site Settings > Site Setup.
Verification Email Recipient: Add the email ID to which you want to receive emails when a new user signs up and needs to be verified. Note that you can get a lot of emails on this.
