Almabase now allows admins to send text messages directly to event guests from the platform. This feature simplifies communication with your event attendees.
Prerequisites:
Subscription: Your organization must have a subscription to the "Text Communication" feature. Talk to your customer success manager and enable the feature. Once enabled you should see the option to send messages under events.
10 DLC (10-digit long code) number:
If you need a new 10 DLC number, please let your Success Manager know and they will share the next steps with you.
If you already have a 10 DLC number, share it with your Success Manager for setup.
How to Send a Message:
Go to Tools > Events, select the specific event for which you want to send messages, and navigate to the Guests tab.
Click on the Message Guests dropdown button and select Text Guests from the dropdown menu.
βA text message creation modal will appear. Compose your message in the provided text box and give this an internal name.
Optionally, send a test message to ensure the message appears as intended.
Once satisfied, either send the bulk message to all event guests or save it for later as a draft.

Can I duplicate my text message setup?
Yes, you can duplicate the setup. Click on "Actions" > Duplicate.
How can a guest opt-in or opt-out to receive text messages regarding the event?
When a guest registers for the event, they will see a "Stay Informed" section in the registration form. This section includes the question: "Would you like to receive updates over text messages?" with options for Yes or No.
βIf the guest selects Yes, they have consented to receive text messages. If they select No, they have opted out.
Do guests need to opt in every time they register, or is it a one-time opt-in?
Guests need to provide consent for every event. This ensures they have the flexibility to choose whether or not to opt in for each event individually.
