How can I enable subscribers to post in a Space?

  1. Create topics for the Space.

  2. Decide if posting should be limited to moderators or open to all subscribers.

  3. If the "Allow only moderators to post on this topic" option is set to "No", all subscribers can post on that topic.

How do I grant access to a specific user in a Class Year Space if they don't meet the verification criteria?

  1. Create a new Verification List (e.g., "Friends of 1973").

  2. Manually add the specific user to this list.

  3. Add the new verification list to the Space along with existing verification segments.

How can users navigate back to the homepage from Spaces?

  1. Add the homepage URL under "Home Settings" in the "Spaces Settings" tab.

  2. Select "Save changes" to update.

Who receives push messages or notifications in a class group on the Almabase platform?

  • Moderator announcements: Subscribers of a Space receive notifications for announcements.

  • Topic followers: Members need to follow a topic to receive notifications for new posts.

  • Post creators: Members get notified of engagement (like comments or upvotes) on their posts.

  • Digest: Subscribers of a Space receive an email digest summarizing recent activities or updates.

How can I add videos to a post on Spaces?

  1. Upload the video to your institution's YouTube channel.

  2. Take a screenshot of the uploaded video.

  3. Make a post with the screenshot.

  4. When users click on the video screenshot, they will be redirected to YouTube to watch the video.

What is the character limit for a Spaces post, and what is included in the limit?

The character limit for a Spaces post is 20,000 characters. However, currently, the system counts images/links as multiple characters if the post contains links or images, so the character count is higher than expected. As the images are converted into HTML text, the system includes the characters in the final count.

If your post exceeds the character limit, you can try creating a separate page with all the info, including pictures and links. Then, share the link to that page in your Space post and an image, if you'd like to.

I deleted news posts migrated from News and Updates (old version) to Spaces to edit/update them and tried to re-migrate, but now they won't show up. How can I recover them?

Here's what you need to do to republish the unpublished page to Spaces: Go to News and Updates, open the page, scroll down to the bottom, and uncheck the 'Migrated to Spaces' checkbox. Now you can try migrating it to Spaces again. 👇🏽 It will restore the article.

Our homepage has a big section that says "Recent Posts" but nothing is posted. How do we make sure there is content there?

The Recent Posts on the Homepage shows posts created on Spaces (Privacy Setting set to Public). You can start creating Spaces and adding posts to reflect under recent posts. More information on creating Spaces here.

Alternatively, you can also click on Recent Posts which will take you to the feed. Here you can click on Create Post and add content for the Recent Posts. 👇🏽
