Q1) I have a Space where I want subscribers to have the option to post on the Space. Is there a way to do this?
When you create topics for a space, you have the option to choose if making posts on the topic should be limited only to moderators or to all subscribers (see screenshot 👇).
If the Allow only moderators to post on this topic option is set to No, all subscribers will have the option to Post on that topic.
Q2) How to grant access to a specific user in a Class year Space if the user does not meet the verification criteria?
As an example, if you have a space for the Class of 1973 with specific verification criteria, other users won't be allowed access.
To grant access to a user who doesn't meet the verification criteria, create a new Verification List (e.g. "Friends of 1973) and manually add the user. Here's how 👇🏽
After that's done, add this new verification list to the space along with the existing verification segments. 👇🏽
Q3) How can users navigate back to the homepage from Spaces?
For the Home link to appear on Spaces, please add the home page URL under Home Settings on the Spaces Settings tab and Hit save changes.
Q4) Do all in the class get the push messages, OR do the push messages only go to specific “subscribed” members of a class group on the Almabase platform?
Here's how the notifications or pushes work for members and subscribed members of a space on the Almabase platform:
Moderator announcements: Those who are subscribed to a space will receive notifications every time the moderator makes an announcement. If you wish to know more about moderator announcements, please click here. If a member hasn't subscribed to a space, they won't receive these moderator announcements.
Topic Followers: Notifications about new posts aren't sent to members or subscribers by default. If a member or subscribed member wants notifications for new posts on a specific topic, they need to follow that topic. This can be done by clicking on the bell icon next to the topic within a space.
Post Creators: Whenever a member or a subscribed member creates a post, they will be notified of any engagement with that post, such as upvotes or comments.
Digest: Only those who are subscribers of a space will receive a digest in their email summarizing the recent activities or updates.
Q5) How to add videos to post on Spaces
There is no straightforward way to upload a video on Spaces. The best workaround is as follows 👇
1. Upload the video on your institution's YouTube channel.
2. Take a screenshot of the uploaded video 👇
3. Once you make the post, it will appear like this 👇
Once the user clicks on the video, they will be redirected to YouTube to watch the video.
