Setting up Stories through directories enables alumni to write about their student days, work, achievements, or experiences.

You can also use this platform to publish a range of content like alumni spotlights, inspirational stories, or blog posts.

Step 1: Directory Setup

  1. Begin by creating a directory for Alumni Stories.

  2. Choose "Stories" as the template. You will then be directed to the admin side of the directory.

Note: Form submissions are used to add content or items to the Directory.

Step 2: Display Settings

Customize the directory settings to display submissions according to your preferences.

Step 3: Privacy Settings

  1. To set up private content, determine which users should have access and add them to the Verifications list. For example, restrict the directory to users with the affiliation "Alumni."

  2. Visitors will need to verify themselves as alumni by confirming their email for validation.

Step 4: Enable Sharing

  1. Enable sharing so users can easily share stories, jobs, businesses, etc., within their circle.

  2. Note: The share option varies based on the device and operating system, showing relevant share options the user is accustomed to.

Step 5: Search & Sort Settings

Configure search and sorting options in the directory settings.

Step 6: Other Settings

  1. Add a default cover image to make the listing page more appealing.

  2. Under "Other settings," configure the default image for cards when none is submitted.

  3. Configure the "Add Button" and image position as you prefer.

Making Alumni Stories Accessible

  1. Go to 'Settings'.

  2. Select the 'Header and Footer' in the admin panel.

  3. Select "+Add sublink" under your chosen menu item.

  4. Type in "/d/alumni-stories" (replace "name of the directory" with the actual directory name). The URL can be found in the admin side of the directory by selecting the gear icon next to the Directory name.

  5. The option you added will now appear in the Main Menu dropdowns on the site.

You can also use a widget to add this directory (Alumni Stories) on the platform or publish your directory on another content management system. Read more here.
