The Payment Links feature in Almabase Giving makes it easy to collect donations for specific campaigns, like Giving Days or Giving Tuesday. This article walks you through creating and sharing payment links that lead supporters straight to your giving pages.
Steps to Create Payment Links
From your admin dashboard, head to the Tools > Giving >Payment Links. Select 'Create Payment Link' to start a new link.
Choose the giving page you want your donor to use.
Next, pick whether to use existing records or a communication group or to create a new record.
Select one or more donors for the link.
On the next screen, you'll see that the donor’s name, email, and phone are included. You can optionally add their address or business entity.
Click through to review the payment link details.
- One more click, and your payment link is ready to go.
Sharing and Tracking Payment Links
Share the unique payment link via email, text, or however you like.
New links appear under the 'All' or 'Pending' tabs for easy tracking. Once a donor completes payment, the link’s status updates automatically. You'll find paid links under 'Pending' and any issues under the 'Failed' tab.
Creating Payment Links from a Specific Giving Page
Sometimes, you may want to generate a link right from a giving page itself:
Open the specific giving page, then select 'Payment Links.'
Click the plus icon to start a new link.
Search for a donor by name and review their details.
If you want to split a gift between funds? Enter the fund name and amount—the form supports quick splits.
Generate the payment link.
Copy the generated link and share it with your supporter.
Once your donors click on the link they recieved via email or text, they'll be taken to checkout directly.
Pro tips:
Use payment links for campaigns, reunions, annual fundraisers, or even special events—it's flexible.
