Profile

A Profile is an equivalent of what you might call a 'constituent.' It is a set of information about a person that is stored in your database, not an actual person. Profiles are added to your database through a spreadsheet upload during the platform's initial setup.

User

A User, on the other hand, is someone who has actually registered on the platform.
This is an actual person. A registered user is indicated by a blue checkmark on their profile card or by a blue check on Data Studio.

When a user registers on the platform, we check if their email address matches a profile that is already on the database. If there is a match, we merge the information on the profile with the user's details provided by during registration.

In this process, the older (duplicate) profile gets Archived meaning it's removed from the directory and Data Studio. The same happens when you manually merge duplicates.

To view a list of all Users, you can go to "All Registered Users" in the Admin Panel. You can also use the "Is Registered" filter option in Data Studio.

Here's a glossary of a few terms you might encounter:

  • Registration Type: This refers to the mode used for signing up on the platform, which can be Facebook, LinkedIn, or Email.

  • Registration Status: It reflects the User's status before and after signing up. If a User hasn't signed up yet, and there's already a Profile on the platform, the Registration Status will be "Account not created." Once they sign up, the status can change to "Pending Approval," "Approved," "Blocked," or "Pending Email ID Verification." You can find detailed explanations for each of these statuses in our article on 'Understanding Registration Status.'

  • Email Status –This can be categorized as Engaged, Invalid, Not available, Unknown, Verified, or Unsubscribed from all communication. Each Email Status is explained comprehensively in our article on 'Understanding Email Status.'
