How to Set Up a Job and Internship Board?

Learn how to create and manage a Job or Internship board using Directories to makes the lives of the admins, alumni and job-seekers easier.

Using directories, you can establish a Job or Internship Board to list open positions and streamline the application process.

This feature allows for easy posting of job openings and efficient job search capabilities for applicants.

Step 1: Create a Job or Internship Directory

  1. In the Admin Navigation, go to "Directories".

  2. Click on "+" to add a new directory.

  3. Enter a directory name and select the "Job Board" or "Internship Board" template to start.

Step 2: Manage Form

  1. Under "Settings", click on "Manage Form".

  2. Edit or add form fields to collect information about the job posting, such as Industry, Salary, Location, etc.

Step 3: Set Publish Criteria

  • This setting determines the criteria for publishing a job post.

  • For example, if the filter is "Last Day to Apply - Between Upcoming - 10 Days", it will display posts with the application deadline within the next 10 days.

Step 4: Configure Privacy

  1. This option allows you to limit or open the Directory to a specific audience.

  2. Leave this field blank for public visibility.

Step 5: Adjust Display Settings

  1. Edit the job posting preview in this section.

  2. "Summary Settings" options are displayed on the job posting card.

  3. Fields under "Other Details" are shown when expanding the post.

Step 6: Search & Sort Settings

Configure search, filter, and sort options on the Job Board to help applicants or viewers navigate through job postings.

Step 7: Other Settings

  • Show Add Button: Displays the "+" button next to the search bar, allowing addition of job postings.

  • Set Default Image: This image is added by default if no image is submitted with the job post.

  • Tags: Adding relevant tags to the job post facilitates easier searching and finding.

Best Practices

  1. List the Job or Internship Board on the homepage header menu for easy access by alumni.

    1. On the 'Directory', click 'View on Platform'. Copy the page URL.

    2. Go to the 'Admin Navigation', then to Settings > Platform Settings > Edit Main Menu > Footer

    3. Click add a 'sub-link' or 'header link'.

    4. Give it a name and add the Job or Internship Board URL under the URL field.

  2. Analyze engagement on the Job Board using Reports to get insights on Visits, Views, Clicks, and Searches.

  3. View detailed activities on the Job/Internship Board to track recent viewers, applicants, and other activities.
